Elizabeth Ramsey has passed away at the age of 83.
On Thursday, October 8, 2015, her daughter, singer and actress Jaya Ramsey, took to social media to break the sad news.
"Mama Beth is now with our Lord... 83 years has been full. Love and laughter, she has given not just our family but the whole nation," the "Marimar" actress wrote.
Jaya also revealed that her mom died in her sleep.
"Thank you for your love and prayers and I rejoice because she passes in her sleep. In peace. In God's loving arms. Bye mama, until we meet again. I love you forever. Thank you Jesus," she posted.
Reports say the comedienne died of hyperglycemia attack.
Elizabeth Ramsey rose to fame in 1958 after winning a contest in the Philippines' first noontime show, "Student Canteen." She was eventually regarded as the Philippines' "Queen of Rock and Roll."
