South Korea ferry carrying high school students sinks

A ferry carrying mostly high school students, sank in the coast of South Korea on Wednesday.

Out of the reported 459 people in the ferry, at least 3 have already been found dead and 55 injured. Almost 300 are still missing.

325 of the passengers on board are high school students who are reportedly on their way to Jeju Island for a four-day trip.

Military boats and helicopters immediately came to the rescue, but those missing are believed to be trapped inside the multi-story ship named Sewol.

#PrayForSouthKorea became a worldwide trending topic on Twitter as rescue operations are being done. Words of sympathy and support from all over the world are posted on social media, with some saying it was like the MH370 tragedy all over again.
