Miss Latvia Alisa Miskovska was crowned Miss Tourism Queen International (TQI) on Thursday night in Xianning, China.
She bested 43 other candidates from across the globe, including Philippines’ representative, Cindy Miranda.
Based on the announcement in the pageant’s Facebook page, 1st runner-up was South Africa; 2nd runner-up was China; 3rd runner-up was Korea; and 4th runner-up was Portugal.
The complete list of the Top 15 (also from the same FB page) was as follows: Montenegro, Poland, China, South Africa, Denmark, Latvia, Russia, Philippines, Slovak Rep, Argentina, Thailand, Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela and Spain.
It just makes me wonder how Korea and Portugal got into the Top 5 without getting included in the Top 15.
Anyway, Miss Latvia was a former figure skater who resorted to being a coach of the sport after an injury. She’s not new to beauty pageants as well. She competed in the 2011 Miss World pageant where she got included in the Top 20. Gwendolyn Ruais, that time, finished 1st runner-up.
