Tiya Pusit defends Freddie Aguilar on having a young girlfriend

65-year-old comedienne Tiya Pusit defended Freddie Aguilar from those bashing the 60-year-old singer's relationship with a16-year-old girl.

"Ano'ng pakialam niyo?" Tiya Pusit said during an interview with ABS-CBN News.

She herself currently has a May-December affair. Her boyfriend, however, is no longer a minor but still younger than her for more than half her age. He is a 27-year-old call center agent.

"Buhay namin ito," she continued. "Kung saan kami masaya, doon kami. Wala kaming sinasaktang tao. At I'm sure, si Ka Freddie ganyan din."

But Tiya Pusit said she was surprised with the age gap of Freddie and his girlfriend from Mindoro named Jovi Gatdula.

"Nakakagulat 'yung age gap nila. Sixteen years old? Hindi biro 'yun," she confessed. "Medyo naasiwa ako. Pero ano'ng pakialam ko? Relasyon ni Ka Freddie 'yun eh. Kung mayroon man dapat mag-react, dapat 'yung magulang at 'yung mga kamag-anak. Hindi tayong mga taga-labas."

The Anak singer said in a previous interview that he has the consent of the girl's parents and that he intends to marry her when she turns 18.

Tiya Pusit's relationship with her young boyfriend, on the other hand, is nothing as serious.

"Well, 'yung sa akin, my boyfriend is 27 years old and I am 65. Pero walang commitment," she revealed. "Basta happy-happy lang. No marriage. Walang ganun."

Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is already meddling in Freddie and Jovi's relationship because Jovi is technically still a child. The first step they are going to take is reportedly to talk to Jovi's parents who are both in Mindoro. They want to know the extent of the consent/blessing that Ka Freddie said the parents of Jovi gave him.
