Mark Herras willing to face complaint filed by taxi driver

Mark Herras figured in a heated argument with a taxi driver on Saturday afternoon, October 26, 2013. The incident happened in front of GMA-7’s new building where people saw the Kapuso actor angrily approaching the driver with a piece of wood in his hand.

According to Mark, the wood he was holding was only for self-defense as he knows how taxi drivers carry steel pipes with them inside their vehicles.

The fight started with Mark’s cousins and the taxi driver when his RAV4 (his brother behind the wheel) and the taxi almost collided somewhere in Sct. Fuentebella.

“Yung RAV4 ko, padiretso, tapos yung taxi, galing intersection,” he told pep.ph. “Ngayon, sa sobrang traffic, ang nangyari, nakalabas na ang nguso ng kotse, diretso pa rin siya [taxi driver]. Mabuti, yung kapatid ko na nagda-drive, naapakan agad ang brake, as in totally brake agad. Yung mga pasahero na sakay nung taxi, napasubsob. "Na kung hindi kami nakapag-brake agad, baka head-on talaga na mabangga kami, na puwedeng maaksidente yung dalawang matanda na sakay nung taxi.”

After the incident, the taxi driver kept on badmouthing them. He was also seen talking on the radio which, according to Mark, could be a call for back-up towards his fellow drivers.

The taxi followed them up to the GMA building and the driver continued his angry tirades. That was when Mark already got off the car and approached the taxi driver with a piece of wood in his hand.

Good thing the guards at the building was able to stop Mark and took him inside.

Salvador Ogdiman, the taxi driver, already filed a formal complaint at Quezon City Police Station 10. Mark said he is willing to face the complaint for the truth to come out, but won’t file one against the driver.

The actor even said that brawl is really not in his nature and that this is his first time to be involved in such. He is also willing to apologize, if need be, since one of his cousins physically hit the driver.

However, he hopes that this will peacefully end soon. “Sana pag-usapan na lang nang maayos para matapos na rin.”
