Eugene Domingo won Best Actress for her role in Jun Lana’s Barber’s Tales at the 26th Tokyo International Film Festival.
Set in a rural town during the Marcos regime, Eugene plays the role of a submissive wife in the movie, taking over her husband’s barber shop business after he died.
This is the actress’ second international recognition. She first won the People’s Choice Award for Best Actress for her role in Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank at the 6th Asian Film Awards last year.
