A magnitude 7.2 earthquake hit Central Visayas on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, causing damages to several buildings and roads in the region.
Classes have already been suspended for Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Cebu and Mandaue cities.
Cebu was first to cancel Wednesday classes based on the tweet by Philippine Information Agency Central Visayas:
“Cebu City Mayor Mike [Rama] declared all public and private schools no classes tomorrow,” posted @PIACentraViz.
The announcement was followed by Mandaue City two hours after.
“Mandaue City Mayor Cortes declared suspension of classes tmrw in all levels fr private and public schools.”
Several buildings in Cebu were damaged by the earthquake, including the Sto. Niño Church and Cebu Doctors University.
Some bridges and roads are also damaged which would account to delay in transportation.
The magnitude 7.2 earthquake hit Central Visayas Tuesday morning, at exactly 8:12 AM. Its epicenter was located 2 kilometers southeast of Carmen, Bohol.

Update: Classes are now suspended in ALL LEVELS in Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor, Dumaguete City and Iloilo City.
