Senator Bong Revilla will no longer star in the Iglesia Ni Cristo movie titled Ang Huling Sugo (The Last Messenger). The movie is part of the religion’s centennial anniversary celebration next year.
His inclusion in the pork barrel scandal made him decide to beg out of the project for fear that people might criticize him for playing the role of a religious leader.
Directed by Tikoy Aguiluz, the said movie was announced last year. It will also star Richard Gomez as Felix Manalo (INC founder) and Albert Martinez as Eraño Manalo (took leadership in 1950).
Revilla’s wife, Lani Mercado, who was also included in the original cast as Eduardo Manalo’s wife, was also reported to have backed out.
