Kapuso actress Marian Rivera was recently seen in the ABS-CBN compound for a meeting regarding her movie, Kung Fu Divas, which was co-produced by the network’s film production outfit, Star Cinema.
She made headlines on Wednesday for the visit, which was her first time since she became an actress.
Before she entered the world of showbiz, though, she recalled being an intern in the human resources division of the network for two months in 2004.
Describing her job then, she said, “Taga-xerox lang naman, hayaan niyo na! 'Di ba gano'n naman talaga pag OJT, inuutusan? Mag-si-xerox, mag-ta-type, so 'yun 'yung na-experience ko.”
But it’s an entirely different thing now that she’s already a big star, albeit in a rival network. But did she ever felt nervous about the visit?
“Hindi siguro kaba,” she said as quoted by abscbnnews.com. “More on na-excite, more on saya 'yung pakiramdam dahil finally eh makikilala 'yung mga taga-rito."
It’s her first time to be in a Star Cinema movie and she felt grateful for the opportunity.
“Natutuwa ako na may mga ganitong pagkakataon na binibigay sa artista sa kabila para makatrabaho ng kabila. Nakikita ng mga tao na, 'Ay, wala namang...' May kumpetisyon, alam naman natin 'yan, pero nang dahil sa mga ganitong pangyayari, nawawala 'yung wall,” she said.
She also felt a sense of unity in the process.
“Ibig sabihin nagiging... nagkakaisa-isa tayo para maging maganda 'yung proyekto, magkasundu-sundo. Kaya nagpapasalamat ako na may mga ganitong pagkakataon,” she added.
Her boyfriend and fellow Kapuso star Dingdong Dantes has already done a number of projects with Star Cinema, which is known for its quality and bankable movies. And for that, here’s hoping that a Dingdong-Marian Star Cinema movie will be made possible in the future.
Kung Fu Divas opens in cinemas on October 2. It was directed by Onat Diaz and also stars Ai Ai delas Alas and Edward Mendez.
