2013 UAAP Cheerdance Competition - VIDEOS

The much-awaited 2013 UAAP Cheerdance Competition was held on Sunday, September 15, at the Mall of Asia (MoA) Arena. It is the highlight of UAAP Season 76, thus, the most attended with as much as 20,000 live audience.

The National University (NU) Cheer Squadron was declared this year’s winner with their Arabian Nights-themed routine.

Getting a score of 696.5, it was a momentous moment for the school as it was their first Cheerdance title. They finished third last year (which was also a first) and they obviously trained harder to be this year’s champion. Aside from medals and trophies, they also got P340,000 in cash.

The University of the Philippines (UP) Pep Squad failed to achieve a four-peat and became this season's runner-up with a score of 620.5. They presented a party-inspired routine which made the crowd wild but it wasn't perfect. At least a couple of falls happened, but it was overall a very good (and entertaining) performance. They won medals, trophies and P200,000 prize money.

The De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Animo Squad placed third with their military-inspired routine. It was clean overall and the camera loved Anna De Leon who also won Samsung Stunner of the Year. They got medals, trophies and P140,000 in cash. They Animo Squad last placed in 2011 as the runner-up.

The most cringe-worthy performance, however, came from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Saliggawi Dance Troupe with their Egyptian-inspired performance. First fall came within the first minute, and a lot followed afterwards.

Here are the rest of the performances:

Far Eastern University (FEU) Cheering Squad (last year's second place):

University of the East (UE) Pep Squad:

Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) Blue Babble Battalion:

Adamson University (AdU) Pep Squad:

As mentioned above, Anna De Leon won the Samsung Stunner of the Year.

In Group Stunts category, National University (NU) Cheer Squadron won 1st place; Far Eastern University (FEU) Cheering Squad was 2nd place; and University of Santo Tomas (UST) Salinggawi Dance Troupe won 3rd place.
