Charice is “crazy” in love

She may get bashed for her new look and how she speaks, but international singing star Charice is still on top of her career.

And with regards to her change of music genre, the 20-year-old singer talked about it during her Kris TV guesting on Friday, December 8.

“‘Yong mga sobrang birit ayoko pong marating sa time na mawala na ‘yong boses ko,” she told host Kris Aquino and co-host for that day, Chiz Escudero.

“As a musician meron po talaga akong gusto na genre na para talaga sa akin,” Charice continued. “‘Yong R&B na parang smooth lang, ‘yong parang tulad po (ng kinanta ko) kanina (Alicia Keys’ If I Ain’t Got You). ‘Yong parang mas gusto kong ma-feel ng tao kesa sa marinig nila ‘yong tinis ng boses ko.”

When Chiz asked if belting can damage one’s voice, it was Kris who answered for her godchild, saying, “’Pag pinipilit mo that can lead to permanent vocal damage daw.”

At one point during the interview that also included Cheesa Laureta and her brother Troy, Charice indirectly provided the info that she is now in love by saying that she’s currently inspired.

Kris picked it up by throwing, “Without naming names and without asking you anything, are you in a relationship right now?”

The second part of Kris’ question was probably in respect to the fact that Charice is being rumored to be a lesbian with her change of hairstyle and wardrobe. But, of course, since Kris is Charice’s godparent, perhaps the host knows some “things” for a fact.

Charice didn’t answer her ninang’s question directly, but rather said, “When I’m in love I’m like this. I get crazy.”

It elicited kilig and laughter from the hosts and the audience and even Cheesa and Troy, who are Charice’s close friends, were seen giggling.

When asked to give a message to her special someone, Charice said, “Thank you for inspiring me, thank you for loving me for who I am.”

During the course of the interview, it was revealed that her mother is going through some health issues. She couldn’t give a straight answer when Kris asked if it was a serious ailment or not.

Charice sang quite a number of songs during the episode which included Because You Loved Me, Officially Missing You and No One. She also did a duet with Cheesa – their collaboration titled I’m Not Perfect.

Kris’s children Josh and James were in the audience because Charice is their favorite singer. They even requested for her to sing their favorite song, Pusong Bato. Charice didn’t know the song but did a beautiful rendition of it after listening for a couple of times.

Cheesa and Troy described Charice as a really good person. Troy also said that it hurts him to see the media portray her in a bad light because she’s a very giving individual.
