Kedebon Colim sang Gary Valenciano’s Kailangan Kita at the Top 8 performance show of The X Factor Philippines. OPM was the theme of the performances.
We wondered how Kedebon would do with a slow song and without backup dancers, and he did exactly that during his latest performance. The song is a ballad and doesn’t require dancing so we got the chance to really hear his singing voice.
As expected, some of his notes were all over the place. The crowd was cheering for him but as Gary Valenciano said, they were cheering because they could see Kedebon was doing his best to hit the right notes.
Kedebon belongs to the Boys category mentored by Martin Nievera.
Judges’ comments:
Ang advantage mo… when you come up on stage… you seem to have so much heart in what you do onstage and offstage… I appreciate your heart.
Charice Pempengco: Not this song at all. I think na-gets ko na tinatry mo ‘yong slow songs which is na-appreciate ko pero the whole thing is you can’t do this again if ever na makakapasok ka next week.
Martin Nievera: The reason why I want you up here on this stage dahil sa showbiz, sa multimedia stars, hindi lang singer ang hinahanap natin. Hinahanap din ‘yong entertainer. And that’s what I think you are.
