Tropical Storm BUTCHOY update (11 AM, June 14)

Tropical Storm Butchoy has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), according to PAGASA’s weather bulletin issued at 11 AM today.

Here’s the rest of the bulletin:

At 10AM today, the center of Trop. Storm named "BUTCHOY" was estimated at 880KM east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar. Its center has a maximum sustained winds of 85kph and gustiness of up to 100 kph.

It is forecast to move west northwest at 24 kph.The forecast position is expected to be 560 km east of Virac, Catanduanes by tomorrow morning.

It will be at 320 km northeast of Virac, Catanduanes by Saturday morning and by Sunday morning, it will be at 310 km northeast of Aparri, Cagayan.

The estimated rainfall amount is from 15-25mm per hr (heavy) within the 300 km diameter of the trop. storm.

Fishing boats and other small sea crafts are advised not to venture out into the seaboards of Luzon, Visayas and Northeastern Mindanao due to big waves generated by the effect of the SW Monsoon & TS Butchoy.
