Ara Mina found the apology of younger sister Cristine Reyes not sincere.
“Dapat maramdaman ko na totoo talaga, hindi lang ‘yong for the sake of media,” Ara told TV Patrol.
She also posted in her Twitter account a quote that was believed to be targeted towards Cristine’s public apology aired in The Buzz on June 24.
"A stiff apology is a second insult...The injured party does not want to be compensated bec he has been wronged; he wants to be healed bec he has been hurt." -G.K. Chesterton"
On April 18, Ara Mina filed a libel case against Cristine Reyes for sending her defamatory text messages. Ara said she would only drop the case if Cristine would issue a public apology.
The issue stemmed from disagreements over the remaining balance for a house the two bought for their mother. Cristine allegedly even wanted Ara to turn-over an SUV as payment for the remaining balance. Ara insisted, however, that Cristine only paid the P1-million down payment while she paid the rest of the balance that amounted to P2.3-million.
A phrase in Cristine’s public apology says “I would like to apologize if ever I offended you.” Ara told TV Patrol that it was like Cristine was washing her hands off the issue.
Ara even retweeted a message questioning the sincerity of Cristine’s public apology.
@graceyantinew: @ogiediaz @yourqueenAA @realAraMina ano naman klaseng pag apologize un meron pang f ever....sincere ba un .....
But Ara knew that in the end of all these, she and Cristine would be able to patch things up. She just wanted her to apologize to all the people that had been dragged into the issue.
“Magkapatid kami, e,” she further told TV Patrol. “Natural mag-aayos kami sa huli, pero sana humingi rin s’ya ng paumanhin sa mga taong dinamay n’ya.”
