Tropical Storm Ambo Update – 5 PM June 2

Metro Manila and other parts of the country have been experiencing scattered rains due to Tropical Storm Ambo.

As per PAGASA’s update as of 5:00 PM of June 2, 2012, Tropical Storm Ambo was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 210 km Northeast of Casiguran, Aurora (17.4°N, 124.1°E) with maximum sustained winds of 95 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph. It is forecast to move north northwest at 15 kph.

Tropical Storm Ambo is expected to be at 150 km East of Basco, Batanes by tomorrow afternoon. It will be at  440 km  Northeast of Basco, Batanes by Monday afternoon. By Tuesday afternoon, it will be at 780 km North Northeast of Basco, Batanes.

Classes for the school year 2012-2013 in public schools are scheduled to start on Monday, June 4, 2012. Would the first day be postponed due to Ambo?
