Richard Dawson died of complications of esophageal cancer on Saturday, June 2, 2012, in Los Angeles. He was 79.
Richard was best known as the original host of the game show Family Feud. He hosted the show in its initial run, from 1976 to 1985.
He was famous for his tendencies to kiss women contestants of all races, with many viewers complaining during the times when he kissed black women. Producers tried to stop him from the kissing but he refused, saying he didn’t want discrimination in that regard.
