American Idol 11 winner Phillip Phillips is now out of the hospital and back to work!
It’s good to know that he has successfully had surgery for his kidney as he told E! News that he’s already “out of the hospital and back to work.”
Phillip was first scheduled to undergo surgery for his kidney stones immediately after the AI 11 finale but it was postponed due to a high fever brought about by a sinus infection. The surgery was rescheduled for the week after that.
Phillip has a serious congenital kidney condition that he previously had 8 surgeries to treat his right kidney.
During the American Idol competition, Phillip had to wear a kidney stent. It was painful and was reportedly the reason why he walked like an old man.
Phillip Phillips was declared the winner of American Idol 11 last May 23. He triumphed over the 16-year-old powerhouse Jessica Sanchez, to the dismay of the Filipino-Mexican’s fans all over the world.
Now I guess he’s all ready for the Idol tour. The famous concert tour of the American Idol top 10 will also be staged in Manila on September 21 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The Manila leg, which is the concert’s only stop outside the U.S., is also reported to be the last date of the tour.
