Zambales was rocked by a magnitude-6.0 earthquake on Sunday morning, June 17, 2012.
Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology recorded the earthquake at 6:18 AM. The epicenter was traced 80 kilometers (km) southeast of Candelaria, Zambales. It was tectonic in origin and has a depth of 4 km.
It was felt in Metro Manila particularly in Makati and Quezon City, as well as in Bacoor, Cavite and Tagaytay City.
Although no damages were expected, three magnitude-3 aftershocks were recorded ever since the 6.0 earthquake struck.
