Dolphy, 84, was rushed to the hospital last Saturday.
Rene Pascual, the comedian’s right-hand man, confirmed to Yahoo! News that Dolphy was admitted to Makati Medical Center early morning of Saturday, July 9, 2012.
While there were no reports yet as to the cause of Dolphy’s hospitalization, his son Ronnie Quizon eased everyone’s concern by saying that the King of Comedy is now in stable condition.
Dolphy, who will be celebrating his birthday on July 25, has been coming in and out of the hospital recently due to his faltering immune system.
Dolphy’s family is yet to issue a statement regarding the health of the comedian who is well-loved by the Filipino people.
Update:
Zsa Zsa Padilla, Dolphy’s long time partner, just tweeted a statement made by Eric Quizon, Dolphy’s son.
The mesage says: “My Dad was sent to the hospital last Saturday because of pneumonia. This made him weak because of his COPD. They had to attach a respirator in order to help him breathe. Currently, his vitals are all in order and he is responding to treatment very well. However, he is still under close observation and round the clock intensive care to make sure he recovers well. On behalf of our family, thank you for your love and prayers. -Eric Quizon”
