Dolphy out of the respirator but still in ICU

Dolphy has been in the ICU for over a week now but it’s good news that he’s now out of the respirator.

The Comedy King was said to be showing strong signs of recovery from pneumonia that the doctors decided to take off the respirator. He is still attached to an oxygen tank but he’s already breathing on his own.

His vital signs were also said to be back to normal, although he’s still under observation at the ICU of Makati Medical Center.

Dolphy’s son Eric Quizon said his father has survived 10 pneumonias in his lifetime and is known to be a fighter.

“What my dad has gone through the past couple of years,” Eric was quoted as saying, “I haven’t seen anybody who’s determined to live this much. Ayaw pa niya kami iwan talaga.”

Family members visiting the comedian were required to wear masks and gloves as Dolphy’s immune system was still down.
