Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago couldn't resist to deliver some pick-up lines during her speech at the 17th Philippine Society of Hypertension convention. Among the most applauded were:

Boy: Para mapatunayan kong patay na patay ako sa 'yo.
Q: Pedicab ka ba?
A: Pedecabang i-date sa Valentine's Day?
Ang love, parang bayad sa jeep. Minsan, hindi nasusuklian.

She also couldn't help but give a love advice to President Noynoy Aquino who is currently dating the Korean radio and television personality Grace Lee.
"I hope he makes a good choice if he is choosing at his age," Santiago said. "He should be choosing for a potential mate unless he is resigned to be a bachelor forever then I will advise him that it is a life of complete misery."
She also wished the president good luck by saying, "Everyone needs a partner in life... Let’s wish him good luck in his search."
Despite her previous desire to be president of the Philippines, though, she said she wouldn't take it nowadays even if it was offered to her on a silver platter. "Frankly, if the presidency was offered to me now at my age, on a silver platter, I will be flattered but I will decline it," she said. And to the president who celebrated his 52nd birthday yesterday, February 8th: "Let us all wish him a happy birthday in the sense that he might gain peace of mind and serenity."
