“The Artist” wins big at the 84th Oscars

The Artist won five awards at the recently-held 84th Academy Awards (Oscars). The ceremonies took place on February 26th at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center. It was aired live via satellite in the Philippines through Studio 23 and Velvet.

The Artist’s awards included the most-coveted Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor.

Meryl Streep won the Best Actress category for her performance in The Iron Lady while Octavia Spencer got the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in The Help.
