Adele Wins Big at the 54th Grammys

Adele was a big winner with six awards at the 54th Grammys held February 12th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. She is now tied with Beyonce for the most number of awards won by a female artist in one night.

The British singer didn't lose any nomination in this year's Grammys and even received a standing ovation for her performance of the song Rolling in the Deep, her first performance after her recent throat surgery (video at the end of the post).

Among Adele's awards were Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Short Form Music Video.

Foo Fighters won five awards which include Best Rock Performance, Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance, Best Rock Song, Best Rock Album and Best Long Form Music Video.

Meanwhile, country singer Taylor Swift won Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song.

The Grammys also did a little reformatting of the show to give tribute to Whitney Houston who was found dead in her hotel room a day before the ceremonies. Jennifer Hudson was well-applauded when she did I Will Always Love You.
