"Transformers 4" is set for June 29, 2014 release

Transformers 4 is set for a June 29, 2014 release. That's what Lorenzo di Bonaventura, one of the producers of the movie, told MTV a day ahead the supposed official press release should come out.

The spill reportedly made Paramount furious, as well Michael Bay who went crazy on di Bonaventura. Bay will be directing Transformers 4 (which is said to be a reboot) but only after he has finished doing Pain and Gain which will star Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Shooting of Pain and Gain is said to start this April.

Michael Bay also directed the first three films that is based on Hasbro toy line – Transformers (2007), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) and Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011).

As much as di Bonaventura's early announcement of the film caught the studio and the director by surprise, fans of the franchise got excited upon learning about it. "Transformers 4" even trended on Twitter as users of the microblogging site talked about it.

Many hoped Shia LaBeouf, who starred in the first three films, would still topbill the fourth one, and a lot were campaigning that Megan Fox be brought back in the movie. Fox was in the first two films but was not included in the third.

Casting hasn't started yet, and Paramount is said to be still in the process of hiring a writer. 2014 is still that far, anyway. And that said, fans of LaBeouf still have a lot of time to pray that the actor will still be in the movie because some say it's highly unlikely.
