GMA Network Chairman and CEO Felipe Gozon himself recently commented on the issue regarding the rumored sale of the Kapuso network.
"Kung P500 billion, ibebenta ko right now," Gozon said. "Kung may mag-o-offer ng P500 billion, kahit tulog ako, gisingin n‘yo ko, I will sell. Pag below that, medyo iisipin ko muna."
The issue was also described by Gozon as "a very wild rumor."
Last December 26, 2011, a rumor regarding a business deal between TV5's Manny Pangilinan and the Jimenez, Duavit and Gozon families of GMA-7 spread. Pangilinan allegedly offered a mind-boggling deal to buy the Kapuso network.
A day after, GMA-7 released a statement denying the rumor. According to the statement, there was "no negotiation going on between GMA and Mr. Pangilinan regarding the latter's acquisition of GMA-7."
