Charice throws debut-like party for mom's birthday

Charice threw a grand party two Saturdays ago for the 40th birthday of her mother Racquel Pempengco. The birthday celebrant looked like a debutant in her gown when she arrived, complete with an escort, at the venue in Laguna.

The international singer who's having a concert at the Araneta on March 9 said that she chose to throw a debut-like party because she knew her mom didn't experience anything like that when she turned eighteen.

And it was indeed a debut because there was even an eighteen roses.

Most of the guests were in black to give respect to Charice's father who has just been laid to rest last November.

Charice also gave an iPhone 4S to her mom as a gift because Racquel loves to collect phones.
