Valenzuela councilor Shalani Soledad and Pasig representative Roman Romulo tied the knot yesterday, January 22, 2012, at St. Benedict Church in Ayala Westgrove, Silang Cavite.
Shalani was so beautiful in a gown made especially for her by designer Inno Sotto. Off-white tulle organza with French lace bodice, the wedding gown was simple and elegant and exudes of femininity just like the bride herself.
Roman, likewise, was a dashing groom in black tuxedo.
Shalani arrived at 5:30 PM in a white Mercedez Benz. Three men accompanied her to the altar – her uncle Ramon Soledad, stepfather "Papa Dan" and biological father Adi Aguirre.
Adi was a former president of Banco Filipino. It was only in 2010 when Shalani got to meet him.
The wedding ceremony started at 5:45 PM officiated by Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales, Bishop Mylo Hubert Vergara, Rev. Msgr. Bartolome Santos Jr. and Rev. Fr. Isagani Avinante.
Shalani and Roman became officially husband and wife at around 6:45 PM.
Seen at the wedding were celebrities Lara Quigaman and boyfriend Marco Alcaraz, Shalani's Wil Time Bigtime co-host Mariel Rodriguez, Valerie Concepcion, Ormoc representative Lucy Torres and husband Richard Gomez, TV5 executives Bobby Barreiro and Jude Sta. Ana, Karen Davila, Ronald Singson and Valenzuela mayor Sherwin Gatchalian among others.
Philippine president and Shalani's ex-boyfriend Noynoy Aquino as well as Willie Revillame who was once linked to her weren't seen at the wedding despite having been invited by both the bride and the groom.
There were 10 groomsmen and bridesmaids, 21 flower girls and 22 principal sponsors. Among the sponsors seen at the wedding include Ben Chan, Senator Ping Lacson, TV5 chairman Manny V. Pangilinan, Cynthia Villar and Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario.
