At 10am today, the eye of Typhoon "AMBO" was located based on satellite and surface data at 320 km East Northeast of Aparri, Cagayan (19.0 deg. N. 125.1 deg. E).
Maximum sustained winds of 120 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph.
Forecast to move North Northeast at 13kph.
Ty AMBO is expected to be at 420 km East Northeast of Basco, Batanes by tomorrow morning. It will be at 700 km Northeast of Basco,Batanes by Tuesday morning. By Wednesday morning, it will be at 1,090 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes.
Residents living in low lying and mountainous areas under public storm warning signals are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.
Estimated rainfall amount 20-30 mm/hr (heavy) w/in the 400 km diameter of the Typhoon.
TS AMBO is expected to enhance the Southwest Monsoon that will bring rains over the whole country especially the western section.
Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the seaboards of Southern Luzon and Visayas and the eastern seaboard of Northern and Central Luzon due to the combined effect of TY "Ambo" and the Southwest Monsoon.
