Cultural Center of the Philippines and musicArtes, Inc. present Giacomo Puccini’s Madame Butterfly.
The timeless masterpiece will be staged at the CCP Main Theater on June 22 and 23, 2012 at 8 PM.
Featured in Madame Butterfly are Japanese soprano Mako Nishimoto, Mexican tenor Dante Alcala, acclaimed Filipina soprano Camille Lopez Molina and international baritone Andrew Fernando, with Gerard Salonga conducting the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra.
Dr. Anton Juan is the director while Maestro Francisco Feliciano is the music director. Supporting cast include John Glenn Gaerlan, Lemuel de la Cruz, Jonathan Velasco, Nonon Baang, Jun Jaranilla, Viva Voce and graduates of the UP College of Music, UST Conservatory and St. Scholastica’s College.
Madame Butterfly was last staged as a full production in Manila in 1994.
