Joshua Ledet was eliminated during the top 3 results show of American Idol 11. After over 90 million votes were cast, the powerhouse singer was declared to have received the least number of support from the voting public.
The African-American got the most standing ovations from the judges during the previous night’s performance show. He was given good songs and was praised for delivering exceptional performances. (Click here to watch Joshua Ledet’s top 3 performances.)
But Filipino-Mexican Jessica Sanchez’s powerful vocals cannot be outshined despite having been given songs that many thought, including I, wasn't able to showcase her full potentials (aside from her personal pick, I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing).
Jessica and Phillip Phillips are now the official top 2 of the reality show’s 11th season. They will battle it out in the finale next week and will aim to impress the televiewers for their votes.
Jessica had only been in the bottom group once (top 7), and it was the time she almost got eliminated if not for the judges’ saving power.
Phillip, however, had never been at the bottom group in the entire season.
I’m sure Filipinos and Mexicans all over the world are rejoicing for Jessica’s success in making it to the finals. Let’s hope and pray that she makes it all the way and be the American Idol 11 winner.
