Regal Entertainment has released the character posters for the horror movie Guni-Guni, which is coming to theaters on August 22. It is directed by Tara Illenberger.
Leading the cast is Kapuso actress Lovi Poe who plays the role of Mylene. She’s a medical student, seems like a golden girl: pretty, intelligent and nice. But much of her is kept hidden. In fact, she is cold, unable to love and feels half of her is dead. Something is haunting her, giving her sleepless nights, almost driving her to madness.
The young Kapamilya actress Empress Schuck is Joanna. She is Mylene’s bestfriend and classmate in medical school. She also has the gift of being a psychic. She is the first to sense the presence of the unhappy, young spirit that lives in the boarding house.
The new Kapuso heartthrob Benjamin Alves is Paolo. He has been, at one time, Mylene’s boyfriend. Realizing he made a mistake when he cheats on her, he now desperately tries to win her back.
James Blanco plays the role of Angelo, Tatay Nanding’s estranged son. The last time he was in the boarding house was 30 years ago. Having grown up in the U.S, he no longer holds attachment to the house nor his senile father. He only comes back when his father falls ill, and becomes confronted by a mysterious presence who borrows bits and pieces from his past.
Neil Ryan Sese is Eddie, a widower who is still coping with his wife’s mysterious death. He works as a medical representative, always on the road, taking work-related trips. He never has enough time for his son, Jay-Jay.
Gerarld Pesigan is JayJay, an autistic 6 year old boy who has invented his own gibberish language, Jay Jay spends his days playing with an imaginary friend; and possibly his dead mother.
Julia Clarete is Vangie, who, deep inside, wants to have Eddie all to herself and take the place of his wife that is why she agreed to take care of Jay-Jay, a boy she has no love for.
Ria Garcia plays the role of Alicia, an 18-year-old girl seeking bedspace. She tried to run away from home to hide from her parents the fact that she is pregnant with a baby that she doesn’t want to keep.
