It’s the American Idol 11 top 4 performance night, and as the competition gets stiffer, Filipino-Mexican Jessica Sanchez picked the right songs that could very well exhibit her powerful vocal abilities.
She chose to sing Etta James’s Steal Away for her California-themed song and Jennifer Holliday’s And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going for the songs they wished they had written theme.
She got a standing ovation from the judges for her second song but both performances were likewise praised and critics even said she blew away the entire competition with tonight’s performances.
Idol’s resident mentor Jimmy Iovine was also predicted that Jessica’s performance could win her the competition. "If the audience sees and the judges see what I saw, it could be game over," he said
