A warrant of arrest for talent manager Annabelle Rama has been issued on Monday, June 11, 2012 by Quezon City Regional Trial Court Brach 92 Judge Eleuterio Bersan.
The warrant was due to Rama’s failure to attend the court hearings regarding the 14 counts of libel filed against her by Nadia Montenegro.
A P10,000 bail for each count of libel had been recommended, making it a total of P140,000.
Nadia filed libel and unjust vexation charges against Annabelle for allegedly calling her “piggy” on Twitter several times. The talent manager, who was reported to run for congress next year, also allegedly spread false rumors that Nadia had an affair with another man and cannot pay her bills.
The conflict between Nadia and Annabelle started when Nadia complained that the talent manager was making her two daughters (who were being managed by Annabelle) work for more than 40 hours a week and sometimes even have to miss school for work.
The child abuse case filed by Nadia was junked, however, by the prosecutor’s office due to lack of evidence.
