Jessica Sanchez to sing US National Anthem at Game 1 of NBA Finals

For the third time since her American Idol 11 runner-up finish, Filipino-Mexican-American Jessica Sanchez will be singing The Star-Spangled Banner in a major event, this time before the start of Game 1 of NBA finals.

Game 1 between the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Miami Heat will take place on June 12 (June 13 in Manila) at the Chesapeake Energy Arena, the Thunder’s homecourt.

Three days after the AI 11 finale, Jessica was asked to sing the anthem at the 2012 PBS National Memorial Day Concert in Washington. Then she sang the same anthem before the start of the Pacquaio-Bradley fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in La Vegas over the weekend.

If Jessica were here in the Philippines, with all the tagging we do with celebrities, I’m sure she’d be tagged as “The National Anthem Queen.”
