Daniel Padilla’s debut album has turned gold!
The 17-year-old singer and actor received a gold record award for his album Hinahanap-hanap Kita. The plaque was given yesterday in ASAP 2012 by Jonathan Manalo and Rox Santos of Star Records.
“A new male recording star is born,” Jonathan said pertaining to Daniel. “In behalf of Star Records… I am awarding you this PARI-certified gold record award.”
Jonathan also revealed that Hinahanap-hanap Kita “is literally flying off the shelves” and has turned gold in less than a week. “This is a good sign of what could be a very wonderful recording career ahead of you,” he added.
Daniel was very grateful for the award, thanking God, his family, his friends, and his fans and supporters.
The award was given after Daniel performed Mr. Brightside (The Killers) with his band Parking 5 (of which his brother JC was the lead vocals) and Princess And I co-star Khalil Ramos.
Daniel didn’t forget to introduce his brother JC Padilla as the lead vocalist of Parking 5. He also thanked ASAP for letting his band perform with him.
Despite having been launched as a singer, Daniel is a guitarist of Parking 5.
