From nearly 3,000 entries, only 14 has been chosen to compete at the finals of the 1st Philippine Popular Music Festival, to be held at the PICC Plenary Hall on July 14, 2012 at 7 PM.

Prizes:
Grand Prize P 1,000,000.00 + trophy
1st Runner Up P 500,000.00 + trophy
2nd Runner Up P 250,000.00 + trophy
People’s Choice P 200,000.00 + trophy
Non-winning finalists shall automatically receive P50,000.00 cash and a plaque.
The competition hopes to provide a channel through which Filipino songwriters can create new songs and discover new expressions or genres in popular music. The organizers of PhilPop also hope to spark renewed enthusiasm and pride in Filipino music by starting a brand new collection of freshly produced Original Pilipino Music (OPM).
