Blogger arrested over libel charges filed by Deniece Cornejo

Michael Sy Lim, the person behind the popular gossip blog Fashion Pulis, was arrested on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, over a libel case filed by Deniece Cornejo's camp.

According to reports, Lim was arrested by the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) around 11 AM in Makati City.

The libel charges were in relation to the Section IV-c (4) of the Republic Act 10175, which refers to libel "committed through a computer system or any other similar means which may be devised in the future."

The charges were filed against Lim after Cornejo's alleged leaked medical record from Healthway was posted on Fashion Pulis.

On Tuesday afternoon, Lim took to Twitter to say that he was still inside the CIDG office.

A bail of P16,000 for his temporary freedom is said to be already being processed by his lawyer.
