Jinggoy Estrada mugshots revealed

The mugshots of Senator Jinggoy Estrada made it online on Monday night. The senator is now detained at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center for his alleged involvement in the PDAF scam.

Even before his warrant of arrest was released to the public, Estrada already went to Camp Crame to turn himself over to the authorities as soon as the Sandiganbayan fifth division issued the warrant against him on Monday.

His family, including his father, Manila mayor Joseph Estrada, accompanied the senator to Camp Crame. It was very emotional for the family, especially when his eight-year-old daughter seemed to not want to let him go.

At Camp Crame's multi-purpose hall, he underwent medical exam, finger printing and his mugshots were taken.

He has already filed motion to post bail for his P183-million plunder case, a non-bailable offense. According to his motion, he should be allowed to post bail because the "evidence of guilt is absent, and at worst, is not strong."

It was also stated that "there is no proof that Senator Estrada amassed, accumulated and acquired ill-gotten wealth."

Furthermore, the motion said that the senator is not a "flight risk" because he is a "movie actor and a celebrity" that's why "he is easily recognizable making it impossible for him to depart from any airport or port."

His motion for bail will be heard on Friday, June 27. Arraignment is scheduled on Monday, June 30.
