Sarah Geronimo uses John Lloyd Cruz to recruit artist in 'The Voice Kids'

The three coaches of “The Voice Kids” never seem to run out of creative ways to woo young artists to join their respective teams, and the competition among them heats up even further this weekend (June 14-15) as coach Lea Salonga summons Season 1 grand winner Mitoy on stage to convince a kid to be part of Team Lea.

Not one to be upstaged, coach Sarah Geronimo brings up the name of her “bebe” John Lloyd Cruz and promises the said young artist that she will get her to meet the actor if the aspiring artist chooses her as coach. For which gimmick will the kid fall?

Coach Bamboo, meanwhile, also brings his “A” game to recruit outstanding artists and build a formidable Kamp Kawayan.

Watch out for impressive young artists in the continuation of the Blind Auditions, including a boy performer who is a son of a former singer, a kid who dreams of becoming the country’s Prince of Jazz, a die-hard KathNiel fan, and a young artist who lies down to practice and improve his singing skills.

As it continues to find the best voices of young Filipino artists, “The Voice Kids,” the most watched program in the country last May, also continues its winning streak in the TV ratings game this month, according to data from Kantar Media. Last Saturday (June 7), more viewers tuned in to the program when it hit a national TV rating of 34.4% versus “GMA’s Blockbusters ‘Shrek The Third’” (15.8%). The vocal competition also reached its all-time high national TV rating of 37.6% last Sunday (June 8) or 22 points higher than that of “Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho” (15.1%).

The fourth week of the Blind Auditions signals the anticipation for the next stage of the competition as the coaches build up their respective teams composed of 18 artists. Watch out for the heart-stopping Battle Rounds that will kick off in two weeks and will determine each team’s best young artists.
