Magnitude 5.7 earthquake hits Calatagan, Batangas (June 25, 2014)

A magnitude 5.7 earthquake hit Calatagan, Batangas Wednesday evening, June 25, 2014.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded the earthquake at exactly 7:52:01 PM, with epicenter located 32 kilometers (km) west of Calatagan.

The quake had a depth of 36 km and was tectonic in origin.

It was also felt in the following areas:

Intensity V- Puerto Galera, Or. Mindoro; Batangas City; Looc,Lubang, Mamburao, Sablayan, Abra de Ilog, (Occ. Mindoro)

Intensity IV-Malolos, Bulacan; Tagaytay City; Mabini, Batangas; Indang, Rosario (Cavite); Naujan, San Teodoro,Pola, Socorro (Or. Mindoro)

Intensity III - Quezon City; Pasig City; Taguig City; Manila City; Paranaque City; Bacoor, Cavite; Baco, Or. Mindoro; San Jose, Occ. Mindoro; Talisay,
Batangas, Taal Volcano Island

Intensity II - Binangonan,Rizal; Lucban, Quezon; Makati City; San Pedro, Laguna

Intensity I - Caloocan City
