Matteo Guidicelli was very proud of girlfriend Sarah Geronimo for admitting their relationship to the press and for "standing up for herself."
After months of speculations and rumors, Sarah finally admitted that she and Matteo are in a relationship on Thursday during a press interview. (Read related post here.)
"I'm really proud of her," Matteo told the ABS-CBN North America News Bureau. He was in the US, taking part in the activities organized by The Filipino Chanel, when Sarah made the revelation. "I've told the press before in Manila that I would tell you guys if I could. Now I can, because she said it first. I just want to respect her side, her family, and everything."
He added that Sarah is old enough to start enjoying life more, and would like to be able to show her what life has to offer.
"I'm very proud of her, that she's standing up for herself. You know, she's 25 years old and she's starting to enjoy life more. I want to show her what life is! I just want her to be happy!" the actor said.
They first co-starred in Catch Me, I'm In Love in 2011 but he said he had admired the singer-actress long before that.
"I liked her since... You know, Sarah's been my crush since five years ago. She's just an amazing person. She's just amazing. Words can't explain how amazing she is. She's very good, she's nice," he said.
He also thanked everyone who supported them.
"Maraming salamat sa kanilang lahat for supporting us, for supporting Sarah, because she's a lovely person. She deserves all the best, she deserves all the happiness in life," he said.
