The publicist of Taylor Kitsch has replied to Ricky Lo regarding the actor’s recent interview with David Letterman where he talked about an alleged Philippine airport incident.
Britney Ross, Kitsch’s publicist, says there will be no statement because the actor wasn’t the one who made the mistake.
In the said Late Show with David Letterman guesting, the actor narrated how one customs official tried to ask for an iPhone as a bribe.
David Letterman was the one who brought out the topic, and was the one who said it happened in the Philippines where the actor shot scenes for an upcoming movie. Kitsch, however, “was caught up in the moment” and failed to correct the host that it was in Indonesia.
Here is the Ross’ reply to Ricky Lo:
Hi, Ricky. Thank you for your inquiry but there is no statement. To help clarify though, did you actually watch the interview? Taylor did not say the incident occurred in the Philippines, it was David Letterman who said that mistakenly. Taylor was caught up in the moment and the excitement of the show and inadvertently failed to correct the error (it WAS a real incident — it happened in Indonesia and Taylor had discussed it a few moments prior with the Letterman producers).
Meanwhile, Indonesian authorities have confirmed that it was indeed in their country where the actor filmed the Oliver Stone-directed Savages. They have already identified the official Kitsch talked about in his interview. He will be penalized once proven guilty.
What do you think of Kitsch’s publicist’s reply to Ricky Lo? Should we let it go just like that or has it added more hurt to our pride as Filipinos?
