The top 13 of the American Idol 11 was announced on the March 1 episode of the hit reality show. Five (5) boys and five (5) girls were chosen via viewers’ votes based on their performances from the past two nights. The other three (3) were wildcards picked by the judges.
Filipino-Mexican Jessica Sanchez was among the ten (10) candidates who went through via viewers’ votes. Her previous night’s performance of Jennifer Hudson’s Love You I Do was well-applauded, the judges even gave her a standing ovation.
The other four girls who went through via viewers’ votes were Hollie Cavanagh, Shannon Magrane, Elise Testone and Skylar Laine.
The five boys were Phillip Phillips, Joshua Ledet, Heejun Han, Colton Dixon and Jermaine Jones.
The three wildcards were Erika Van Pelt (Randy Jackson’s pick), Jeremy Rosado (Jennifer Lopez’s pick) and DeAndre Brackensick (Steven Tyler’s pick).
