She was reportedly shot dead by a still unidentified gunman who fled in a motorcycle.
A video of the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footage of the crime was uploaded on YouTube, but it was "edited to make it less graphic."
Not showing the actual shooting, the video starts showing a woman bent down and already starting to fall from her chair.
Yap was reportedly shot at close range in the back of her head while at a roadside restaurant in Tagaytay Street, Barangay 131 where she was a member of the barangay council.
A close relative told news reporters that prior to the incident, Yap has received death threats which she ignored. One text message even told her she'd be gone before Christmas.
Meanwhile, the latter part of the video shows a footage from another camera. The voices of the men watching the video claimed that the gunman was riding the motorcycle that was seen speeding in the footage.
Teresa Yap appeared on "It's Showtime" last September 2015 to defend her daughter Angelica aka Pastillas Girl from bashers.
Angelica became part of the noontime show after her online video about how to make pastillas became viral.
She took part in a dating game, searching for her Mr. Pastillas.
