Teresa Yap, the mother of "Pastillas Girl," was shot and killed Sunday night in Caloocan City.
Reports say that Yap, who was a barangay council member of Barangay 137, was about to eat at a restaurant along Tagaytay St. when she was shot at the head from behind by one of her still unidentified assailants.
She was immediately rushed to a hospital but was pronounced dead around 9:20 pm.
Yap, at one point, appeared on "It's Showtime" to defend her daughter, Angelica Yap aka "Pastillas Girl," from bashers.
Angelica became part of the noontime show after her online video about how to make pastillas became viral.
She took part in a dating game, searching for her Mr. Pastillas.
