Fans of Maine Mendoza aka Yaya Dub expressed their disappointment towards the hacking of her Twitter account early morning of Tuesday, November 3, 2015.

It was past 1:00 am when the group Anonymous Philippines took over Maine's Twitter account, posting links that lead to their Facebook page to promote Million Mask March.
The Million Mask March, according to its poster, is a protest for "freedom of speech, peace and truth" and "for a healthier humanity." It will be done simultaneously in several countries on November 5.
A lot of Meng's fans, however, found the act offensive, saying the group could have just contacted the admins of the AlDub (fans of Alden Richards and Yaya Dub) fan clubs to help them trend it on Twitter instead of hacking the celebrity's account.
A couple of hours after the hack, though, the group posted a "press release" on their Facebook page "regarding the hacking of Yayadub's Twitter account."

"Dear fans of Aldub, we sincerely apologize for the recent intrusion of your beloved Idol's Twitter account. You can rest assure that we don't have any malicious intent towards the said individual or any programs pertaining to that person. We just wanted to send a message to the public, and using Maine's account is one of the easiest way we could find. Rest assured that we are doing our best to contact the respectful owner of the said twitter account with the purpose of giving them back their access," the statement said, adding that they were aware of the negative feedback they would get "but sometimes, you must give a sacrifice for the cause."
Meanwhile, some fans expressed their concern regarding the safety of their social media accounts. The incident, they say, caused more fear than peace of mind.
