Toni Gonzaga received quite a number of negative comments on social media with regards to the way she hosted the coronation night of Bb. Pilipinas 2015 last Sunday, March 15, 2015.
According to those who didn't like Toni's way of hosting, her humor during the Question and Answer round of the Top 15 was inappropriate for such a formal event.
During a press conference for the TV host-actress' upcoming movie with Coco Martin, "You're My Boss," she finally broke her silence regarding the issue, adding that it would be the only time she would talk about it.
According to Toni, she was given instructions to make the show fun especially during the Question and Answer portion. Also, it was not her intention to offend anyone that night.
"To those who were not pleased and to those na, s'yempre nagkaroon po ng parang national debate kung nagustuhan po ba nila o hindi nila nagustuhan ang napanood nila, s'yempre po do'n po muna sa mga hindi natuwa and hindi naibigan ang napanood nila no'ng Sunday, I'm humbly asking for apology kung I have offended or I have maligned or I have hurt anyone of you, but it was never my intention because prior to the show, I was instructed po to make the show fun, light, and ease the tension especially during the Q&A portion so it was never my intention. Again it was instructed for me to host that way; to make it lively and fun, of course, in the spirit of the celebration ng Bb. Pilipinas coronation night," she said.
Meanwhile, she thanked those who defended her against bashers.
"And to everybody naman po, s'yempre I don't want to miss this opportunity to thank everyone, 'yong mga friends ko po from the press, my friends in the industry, who have been saying a lot of... who have been defending me at nagsasalita po ng mga good and kind words sa akin, maraming-maraming salamat po. I really and truly appreciate that from the bottom of my heart," she said.
Toni also revealed that the Bb. Pilipinas organization liked the way she hosted the coronation night.
"I would like to thank the Bb. Pilipinas committee for commending the job I did last Sunday. Maganda po 'yong mga sinabi nila sa akin... They texted me very nice and encouraging words and I'm very thankful for that," she said.
And bringing back her witty and funny side, Toni ended the issue with:
"And in the spirit pa rin po of beauty pageants, let's end this issue with world peace."
