Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. was allowed by the court to visit his son, Cavite Vice Governor Jolo Revilla, who is currently confined in Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa City after sustaining a gunshot wound in his upper right chest on Saturday morning.
The Sandiganbayan granted Bong's urgent motion to visit Jolo, giving the senator five hours on Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. He is under the custody of the Philippine National Police because of his alleged involvement in the controversial PDAF scam.
According to reports, the hospital visit was very emotional. Jolo was seen crying while asking for his father's forgiveness.
"I'm very sorry Papa," Jolo was quoted to have said.
It was answered by Bong with, "We have to be strong, anak."
Although there were speculations that Jolo's gunshot wound was self-inflicted, reports say that it was an accident which happened while he was cleaning his gun that Saturday.
Experts say, however, that you don't normally get shot by accident in the chest while cleaning a gun, because for that to happen, you have to really point the gun back at yourself while holding the trigger.
Meanwhile, talent manager Lolit Solis, who is also a close friend of the Revillas, revealed over the weekend that she noticed Jolo to be very worried about his dad a day before the incident. Recently, Bong reportedly had an unauthorized meeting with Senator Juan Ponce Enrile last February 14. Enrile is under hospital arrest, also for his alleged involvement in the pork barrel scam.
