Andrew Wolff was supposed to guest on GMA-7's "Startalk" regarding the controversial offloading of Melissa Mendez from a Cebu Pacific flight that he was also in.
The model and athlete, however, chose to just send "Startalk" a statement where he said that it is the last time he is going to address the issue.
The former Mister World Philippines also said that the Cebu Pacific management is the better party to talk to about the issue.
In his statement, he narrated what happened, pointing out that it was Melissa who received several warnings from the Cebu Pacific staff which led to her being offloaded.
He and his friend, however, didn't receive any warning which only meant that they did nothing wrong.
Here's the statement:
Dear viewers of Startalk,
I want to clear up the issue involving Melissa Mendez and maybe place some logic into the whole affair.
Nung Biyernes ng umaga, sumakay po kami sa eroplano peacefully, to attend a meeting in Pagadian by lunch. Most of you know my side of the story pero bina-bash na po ako ng mga fans nila ng anak niya.
I too have a daughter, fiancee, mother, that I love with all my heart.
Ganito po yung totoong nangyari with no disrespect to Ms. Melissa.
Ms. Melissa claims to have been disrespect that I didn't recognize her during the incident. My fault for not knowing all showbiz stars here. I am not involved in showbiz na po kasi.
I never said or did anything bad towards her. The other passengers and flight attendants can attest to that.
Meron siyang nasaktang tatlong tao. Kami po, wala kaming ginawa sa kanya. "We were not issued any warnings by Cebu Pacific staff.
Unfortunately, Ms. Melissa was given 3 warnings to sit down or otherwise be ejected sa flight.
The fact is, hindi po siya binastos or binully.
Hindi naman po kami pinababa o kinuwestiyon ng police dahil we were sitting there peacefully waiting to get to the destination.
These are the facts and maraming salamat po.
Meanwhile, he has already removed his Instagram posts that shows Melissa Mendez being kicked off the flight, because he is already being bashed on social media.
On those posts he revealed that Melissa wouldn't want to leave their reserved seats. She only transferred to her designated seat "after 30mins of cursing."
Halfway to their destination, Melissa started cursing again at Rey Pamaran (Andrew's friend) and was given warnings by the flight attendants.
The actress went as far as hitting Rey and the flight attendants, reason why the plane had to go back to Manila to offload her.
