Liezl Martinez has succumbed to breast cancer at the age of 47. News about the former actress' death was announced on Saturday morning, March 14, 2015, which saddened the entertainment industry.
Liezl was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008. She underwent chemotherapy and was cleared of cancer in 2010.
However, the cancer went back in 2011.
In 2012, she was again declared cancer-free after undergoing stem cell therapy.
Liezl Martinez is the wife of actor Albert Martinez. The two had three children - Alfonso, Alyanna and Alyssa.
She is the only child of veteran actors Amalia Fuentes and Romeo Vasquez, and the cousin of actor Aga Muhlach.
Her remains will lie in state at the Arlington Memorial Chapels in Quezon City.
